Shane Baker born in Melbourne Australia back in 1971.

Shane first picked up a camera when he was nine and has had fascination with this image making instrument ever since. He still has his first camera, a Canon T50, which he’s since past down to his own son.

With further studies in photography, it wasn’t until later he would find that Photography would form a significant chapter in his life.

At the same age of nine Shane was introduced to Sailing. With he and his Dad building several boats at home over the years and racing on the weekends, sailing became part of his life.

This in turn led to Sail boarding, and competing in several classes of Sailing Dinghies including 125’s, Cherubs, Javelin, LW Sharpie and International 14 Skiffs., to name a few.

It wasn’t until several years later that Shane was rostered on his local Yacht Club rescue boat, camera onboard.

After shooting several rolls of film that weekend, Shane had them processed and printed and displayed them in albums the following weekend at the yacht Club.

A number of people asked for copies and enlargements.

Shane Baker Photographs was born. 

He has since invested in Professional quality cameras and Lenses , computers and other associated equipment which all help create that ultimate image.

His photographic works has since been published in local and overseas sailing magazines, sailing association websites and local newspapers.

Other photographic ventures have included aviation, motor sport, landscape,wildlife, and baby portraiture photography.
